Travel Options

The Semester in France Program offers three options for study abroad. We recommend students spend the whole semester in France if their schedule allows, as the program is designed as a four-block experience. However, we do allow students to register for a half-semester plan if necessary. All three options have a prerequisite of FR101 (1 block of elementary French) or the equivalent placement test score.

Whole Semester
Spend the entirety of your second semester studying abroad in France. Develop your language skills and experience the unique cultures each region has to offer. Students spending the whole semester in France get the chance not only to travel throughout France, but also have opportunities to travel to different countries across Europe on block breaks or the 2-week Spring Break.

*Non-EU students planning to spend the whole semester in France are required to obtain a student visa from the French Consulate before departure.
Blocks 5 & 6
Spend Blocks 5 & 6 in Tours, France. Study at one of the leading global language institutes in the country, where you'll learn and speak with students from around the world. Students are required to do a homestay during this portion. Students will live, eat, and speak with a French family, providing a truly immersive experience, with the potential to create life-long relationships!

*Any non-EU student planning to stay longer than 90 days is required to obtain a student visa from the French Consulate before departure.
Blocks 7 & 8
Spend Blocks 7 & 8 studying the cultures of Southern France and Paris with CC Professors. Comparing the various aspects of history and culture from food and art to language and socio-economic structures, this portion of the program will also include a homestay while the group is based in Tours.

*Any non-EU student planning to stay longer than 90 days is required to obtain a student visa from the French Consulate before departure.
